Located in Stonecrest Georgia, Kangaroo Academy is a Private School for Athletes. Kangaroo Academy’s inaugural school is opening the Fall of 2020. The inaugural school year will be open for Boys 6th grade though 12th. The schools three areas of focus are Education, Development and Team.
Education – The two main goals are to make sure players maintain the eligibility academic status to play middle school and high school sports and become academically eligible to attend College. Students will take the majority of their classes online or at a school of their choice with dual enrollment. Kangaroo Academy wants to provide each student with modern day learning techniques, teach the most relative information to be successful the future and provide close attention to the student’s progress.
Development – Sports alone teach discipline, how to respect others and builds character. Kangaroo Academy has taken development a step farther. Not only do we want our players to be successful on the court but also off the court. Kangaroo Academy is partner with local Churches. Through the leadership of these Churches and its members, players interact with the church to gain a stronger understanding of being a positive contributing member to society. We encourage a deeper relationship with our community. Establish core values that determine priorities, influence decisions and drive behaviors that are worthy of the highest standard.
Team – Our players are the elite. However, the focus is not just on the player but how the player is part of a team. Kangaroo Academy builds champions. To be a champion you must be on a team. Thus, what Kangaroo Academy is really building is a Team. In today's world, the chances to play at the highest level is about the same odds as winning the lottery. Competition is greater then ever. Those athletes that are passionate about playing at the college level or professionally must start early and work everyday at getting better. Many players think just playing or what they get out of a practice is all that is needed. Wrong! Developing Pro-Level standards is about working on fundamentals, one’s body, one’s mind and continuously competing at a high level against better players.
Our history - Our Kangaroos did not originate from Australia. Our Kangaroos emerged from Augsburg, Germany where our Founders worked for the Professional Sports Club, BG Topstar Leitershofen / Stadtbergen, Topstar Kangaroos. While working with athletes of all ages we learned the German way of schooling and sports. The Germany system is far different than how it is for our Founders who were born and grew up going to school and playing sports in Georgia. Different does not mean bad. It gave us insight on how to use the best and worse parts from both and combine them to bring together to make the perfect Academy. An Academy for those who are passionate about playing their sport but at the same time want to get a good education for when the game is no longer an option. The Kangaroos expansion from Germany to Georgia strengthens our international relationships with players and other teams.
Mission – To those that want and might have the chance to play professional sports, provide them the environment to give them the best chance.
What makes the Kangaroo Academy so great? It will be more than winning games. It is about providing the student with positive influences and mentors to help them reach beyond their imaginable potential. Teaching the discipline you must have as an athlete that builds character and leaders. Player training plus emphasis on development, the combination not only builds winners but makes tomorrow’s great influencers. Less students in the class, students get more attention to learning. Having sports as a focus provide athletes with much better development and training than regular schools or even private trainers.
